Lorry driver wellbeing

We work with Wellbeing Care, a care group in Suffolk and Northamptonshire.

And one of their residents at the Dell, Malcolm, was lamenting his previous life on the road as a truck driver, telling staff how he missed his time behind the wheel.

Hearing this and recognising some great PR potential, we sprang into action and looked to arrange for a truck driver to come to the home and take Malcolm for a reminiscence spin.

Putting a shout out via the home’s local media, saw a story published in the Lowestoft Journal.

And this subsequently saw Martello Transport answer the call, with the truck firm kindly offering to send one of their lorries along to the Dell.

On the day, the driver talked Malcolm through the vehicle’s modern controls before taking him for a spin.

Capturing imagery of the event and sharing Malcolm’s thoughts on the experience, helped secure a flurry of press coverage via the Lowestoft Journal online and in print as well as the East Anglian Daily Times and the Eastern Daily Press – all core target publications for the home.

It also generated trade coverage in the likes of Tomorrow’s Care, too.

A lovely bit of PR for Wellbeing Care, that also made Malcolm’s day.
