Toys through time

We work with Church Farm Care.

A care group with homes across Nottinghamshire.

And one of its homes, Wren Hall in Selston, is fortunate enough to be paired up with Little Wren’s children's nursery.

This setup offers some great potential for intergenerational activities.
And with Toy Story 5 hitting cinemas in the UK this month, we spotted an opportunity to tap into the hype.

The film franchise has spanned more than 30 years since its first release – something that offers a wealth of nostalgia, with the featured toys having evolved during that time.
And this is where we saw the chance to play on the intergenerational theme, as we looked to introduce children to some of the older toys from the films.

With the team at Wren Hall collating examples of the toy characters, including Mr Potato Head, an Etch a Sketch and a Jack in the Box, they then bought those in for the care home residents and children to interact with.

With the older residents, showing the younger generation how they worked, the team at Wren Hall filmed the interactions, while getting their respective take on things.

This provided some lovely heartwarming content for us to share with the relevant media, and we subsequently secured some great local coverage via the Mansfield Chad and Nottingham World, which was then syndicated via MSN, broadening its reach.

A simple, yet timely initiative, it was a great way to put Wren Hall and the wider Church Farm Care brand in front of its core target market.
