Painting the picture

We work with Clearstone Care, a family-run care group with homes across Surrey and South London.

And this week, it was a remarkable story from Chegworth Nursing Home in Cheam that caught our attention.

Patrick Murphy, 93, arrived at the home for end-of-life care last October.

But in January, he rediscovered his love for drawing and painting - and, in just seven months, produced an incredible 34 original pieces of artwork.

Spotting a lovely story, we worked with Chegworth to celebrate Patrick's talent by transforming his room into his very own art gallery.

Friends, family, residents and even the Deputy Mayor came along to see his work, with Patrick gifting many of his paintings to those closest to him and members of the care team.

We then took Patrick's story to the media.

And it caught the attention of BBC Radio London, who invited Patrick and Chegworth's manager, Rekha, into the studio for an almost 10-minute interview with presenter Nikki Bedi.

The story has also secured coverage with InYourArea,  and The Care Sector Hub, while PA Media has shown interest, potentially opening it up to an even wider audience.

A brilliant bit of PR that gave Patrick a platform to share his talent, while shining a spotlight on the care being provided at Chegworth.
