Here's how you can use good imagery and social media to reach a wide audience, drive engagement and, ultimately, increase bookings. At Pic PR, a communications agency, we deliver PR, video, photography, social media, copy and design for an array of clients but with an emphasis on, and specialism in, hospitality. Recently, we did some work for Galtres Lodge, a small boutique hotel in the heart of historic York and its rustic restaurant 'Forest’, where we used carefully crafted video, photography and creative strategies to significantly grow their social channels. An already popular venue, the hotel/restaurant team don't want it to be a ‘hidden’ gem – they want everyone to know about it. And they asked us to help. Our solution was to provide creative direction around the production of video and photography, which was specifically tailored for Forest's channels, focusing on Instagram and Facebook, as its core platforms. The overall approach was aimed at digital brand building and growing the restaurant's online audience to enhance its already burgeoning reputation in York.
Over the course of three months, Forest York's channels grew exponentially:
Net Audience Growth: +207.5% Impressions: +158.4% Engagements: +463.4% Post Clicks: +987.4% One particular competition that we ran via Forest’s social channels, reached more than 15,633 people, while Instagram reels have collectively been watched by nearly 20,000 people, with the example below achieving 7,000 views on its own. Given Galtres Lodge is a small hotel with a handful of rooms and a similarly sized restaurant, its social returns see it punching above its relative weight – a trend we’ll look to not just continue, but build upon. It’s now known for the difficulty in getting a booking thanks to its popularity – a sure sign of exclusivity and quality, and it’s a reputation we’ve sought to enhance. That’s a brief summary then, but you can read more on our website here, as well as see some of the visuals involved and some more statistics about the results achieved. In a similar image-led vein, take a look at the work we did with The Chester Grosvenor, a 5-star hotel in Chester, which showcased the recent refurbishment and rebrand of its Michelin-standard restaurant.
