Taking Advantage Of The Weather To Reinforce Your Expertise

If you’re anything like us, you no doubt look forward to the summer months – with warm weather and longer evenings providing a boost to both mental and physical health.

However, that’s not the case for everyone.

Working in the care industry, you may very well be familiar with the concept of sundowning.

It sees those living with dementia experience increased confusion, agitation and restlessness in the late afternoon and early evening during summer.

Now, many of our care clients are dementia experts, and, given the warm weather, we looked to use this expertise.

Approaching our journalist contacts with this in mind, we were able to secure national media coverage for Wellbeing Care, a group of care homes in Suffolk and Northamptonshire.

We put forward Joy, the Registered Operations Manager at the group, as a spokesperson, to impart advice and guidance on sundowning – with this subsequently featuring in an article on the Daily Express online.

Not only does this help provide greater awareness of the disease and its various symptoms, it also positions Joy and Wellbeing Care as authorities on dementia.

Another great thing about securing national coverage is that other news sites take their lead and replicate the article on their own pages. This saw it syndicated on a dozen other websites, including MSN.
When people are looking for a prospective care home, they want to be confident that the care there is going to be good.

And enhancing and reinforcing authority through national news coverage is a great way of demonstrating you know what you’re talking about.

Not only that, it’s great for your search engine rankings too – with authoritative websites talking about your care brand, Google is likely to place you higher, making it more likely people will find you from a simple web search.
