Would you like Michelin Standard Photography?

The Michelin Guide was released last week, and one thing that stood out for us (other than it being a fantastic accolade for those included!) is the importance of good imagery.

This was because some of our photography was included as part of the announcement.

At Pic PR, we’re a communications agency offering a mix of services, including PR, copy, social media, design, video and photography, with a specialism in hospitality. This sees us work with the 5-star Chester Grosvenor, which saw its newly reopened restaurant, Arkle, mentioned within the guide.

Previously, the hotel’s restaurant was known as Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor, and it held a Michelin Star for more than 30 years. With Simon Radley having left and the restaurant having closed for a refurbishment, it reopened earlier this year and it’s now forging a new food identity, with Arkle’s mention in the latest guide testament to how well that’s going.

Post-refurbishment, we captured some pictures of the restaurant to showcase the improvements, something that the hotel could then use as part of its marketing (and we could use as part of our PR work).

Here are a couple of examples:

The great thing for us here though, was seeing our photography incorporated as part of the PR announcing the guide.

As you can see in this Mirror Online story, the top picture is one of ours that we took of Arkle: https://www.mirror.co.uk/travel/uk-ireland/uk-gets-7-new-michelin-28052430

This PR work was done by the Michelin Guide’s PR team (as opposed to us!) but it highlights how important good photography is, as one of our pictures was selected as the top image for the story at a national level – seeing it picked over the other imagery that would have been sent out alongside the story from a raft of leading restaurants.

Whilst good photography alone doesn’t get you a Michelin mention, it can certainly help promote your offering – and Arkle featured prominently here.

Oh, and just to say, we did do some follow up work to PR it on a local level though, which got some great coverage in the hotel’s regional news, Chester Live (which again used our imagery!) and is an excellent way of drawing in local custom. And that’s just another example of how we can amplify your offering.

Want us to capture some top-notch photography for you too? Just let us know and we’ll chat through what we can do.
