How to boost engagement on your social channels

When managing social channels – if you’re looking to attract followers to your audience, you need to give them a reason to follow you.

So how can you do that? Here’s a quick example.

One of our care clients, Nellsar, was looking to boost engagement and reward its followers by giving something back.

And to help with this, we proposed a series of regular social competitions dubbed ‘life lifts’ – as they’re centred on giving Nellsar’s followers a positive boost.

An initial competition, focusing on National Children’s Gardening week, generated some great engagement.

So, we looked to build on this success and launched a second competition to coincide with International Week of Happiness at Work.

Given the care group’s existing following is largely made up of carers and their friends and families, the competition looked to highlight the sense of camaraderie in the sector – something that would also appeal to prospective carers considering a career switch too.
This saw Nellsar offer its followers the chance to win £50 to spend on one of their colleagues as a treat – helping to underline the importance of creating a happy workplace, whilst spreading a dose of positivity too.

The initiative made a real difference to Nellsar’s social channels – with engagement skyrocketing.

In the five days it was live, their channels saw:

·      A 115% increase in impressions

·      A 353% increase in engagements

·      A 1,417% increase in comments

·      A 72% in organic reach

All while positioning Nellsar as an employer and care brand that’s focused on the wellbeing of its care community – be that staff or care recipients.
