How Positive Press Reviews Reinforce Your Legitimacy

When it comes to marketing hospitality venues, high profile and above all high-quality reviews can play a huge part in legitimising your offering.

Influencers are (rightly) doing great stuff for hospitality, but having mainstream publications come and review your hotel or restaurant 1) makes consumers take notice and 2) makes them realise you’re a serious outfit with a serious offering.

Recently, one of our hotel clients, the newly refurbished Stanwell House in Lymington, enjoyed a restaurant review from Grace Dent at The Guardian.

Her honest and forthright approach builds trust with the audience.

Influencers are sometimes regarded with a degree of suspicion, with the audience often thinking, “Is this positive review just because they’ve had a free stay or a free meal?”

But when it comes to someone like Grace Dent coming to eat or stay, you know they’re giving an honest review.

For hotels and other hospitality businesses then, the legitimacy offered by a high-profile review can play an important part in your marketing arsenal – as you’re able to use it as evidence that you’re offering a quality service.

With a journalist from The Independent set to review the hotel this weekend too (and other respected national journalists, including The Telegraph, set to visit in the next few weeks) it’s fair to say Stanwell House is confident in its offering – and it’s something that will make prospective guests confident too.
