Getting the most mileage out of your marketing

Are you a fan of interior design shows?

If so, you may have spotted one of our hotel clients, Rutland Hall, featured on BBC One’s Interior Design Masters last week.

This saw Alan Carr and the production team visit the hotel last year, with participants in the show tasked with redecorating two of the hotel’s lodges, which sit in its expansive grounds, to appeal to a wedding party – with one lodge seen as pre-wedding accommodation for the bride and one for the groom.

A novel way of highlighting the hotel's wedding offering – they’re also available to book.

Of course, whilst the TV show itself offers some fantastic publicity; the important bit is to maximise your marketing clout at every stage.

And, in this instance, there was a great opportunity to spread the messaging further.

So, with news of the show embargoed until it aired, we prepped press activity in advance, before then shouting about it to the relevant local press.

This generated some great coverage across Rutland Hall’s key regional titles, including the Rutland & Stamford Mercury, Leicestershire Live, Northants Live and Lincolnshire Live.

With most people opting for a wedding destination within a relatively easy commute for their guests, this local coverage was perfect to help accentuate the main messaging – that Rutland Hall does weddings and is open for bookings.
