Egg-cellent Easter Campaigns

April 11th 2023 By Amy Millyard 1 minute read

The daffodils have bloomed, the weather is (slightly) sunnier and the shops are stocked full of chocolate goodies… Easter is on its way and so are the egg-cellent marketing campaigns surrounding the hoppiest time of year. Take a look at my favourites below.

KitKat’s Easter Bunny Village

This year, Chocolate brand Kitkat gave the Nottinghamshire village of Bunny an egg-citing start to their Easter celebrations. Residents woke up to an enormous 10ft bunny made of real chocolate on the village green. Taking 305 hours to build and weighing 50 kilos, the bunny gifted each of the 698 villagers a KitKat Bunny treat from its hand-made chocolate basket. The village even officially renamed itself ‘Easter Bunny Village’ for the day!

Ikea’s FlatPack Easter Egg

Back for its fourth year of festivities is IKEA’s take on the classic Easter egg. The Swedish brand, known for its flatpack furniture stayed true to its roots and created a self assembly chocolate bunny! Consisting of 3 parts, the bunny is a fun activity as well as a tasty treat. Made from sustainable cacao this gift is set to make someone very hoppy this Easter.

Cadbury’s Worldwide Hide

Third time is the charm with this egg-stra special campaign. Back for its third year running, Chocolate brand Cadbury welcomes back its ‘Worldwide Hide’ Easter campaign. This online egg hunt allows customers to hide digital purple eggs worldwide for someone they love via Google Street View. The hider can then also send a real chocolate egg to the finder once the egg has been found. Cadbury has also created bespoke digital billboard adverts in nine key UK cities, including Bristol, London and Birmingham. Using data from the Worldwide Hide, they are also hiding ‘showcase’ eggs in a range of famous spots over the cities, bringing people together one digital Easter egg at a time.
