Laura Jones runs to Pic PR for media advice

When Laura Jones committed herself to completing seven marathons on seven continents in 12 months, Pic PR was on hand to help her make strides in telling her story.

After innocently stating her desire to run the Everest Marathon one evening, the 28-year-old – who had previously never run further than 5km – found herself signed up to the challenge of a lifetime.

Laura contacted Pic PR at the beginning of 2017 looking for PR support. With several key runners on the team and a knowledge of the health and fitness press, Pic was keen to get involved and help promote the challenge.

Alongside her personal goals, Laura will also be taking the opportunity to raise money and awareness for two charities close to her heart – The Scouts and The Jonny Wilkinson Foundation.

Pic PR is helping to promote the challenge with a press and digital approach, using their extensive knowledge in the industry and utilising their contacts with key journalists to help keep them up to date with Laura’s challenge, arrange interviews and other media opportunities.

David Barrett, MD of Pic PR, said: “Laura has set herself an incredible challenge and to be doing it for two amazing charities makes it an absolute pleasure to work with her and help tell her story. We wish her the best of luck in all seven marathons and can’t wait for updates on her progress.”

Laura added: “I was unsure how to start telling my story but the team at Pic PR have been amazing. They’ve given me some great advice and have been so supportive. They’ve really helped to raise awareness of my challenge and my goals.”
