Joe Gillin

Joe is one of our Senior Video Producers here at Pic PR, creating cracking visuals for a whole range of our clients – be that video, animation or photography.

His interest in the field started at an early age and he opted to study Film and Television Production at Edge Hill University, with a view to working on big budget productions such as Doctors and whatever’s replaced Jeremy Kyle in the depths of daytime TV*. However, Joe discovered that he really enjoyed making short films, having dabbled in it for some festivals and competitions.

This made him realise that his real interest lay in cinematography and storytelling, and he created some promotional content for businesses local to his university, which saw him soon become hot property around Ormskirk in Lancashire, allowing him to go fully freelance for a few years post-university.

Being a native of Worcestershire though and with an Elgar-esque love for the area, he was drawn to opportunities that supported his long-term ambitions of sitting within a super slick video setup that delivers exciting work for clients. He spotted a role at Pic that fitted the bill (although admittedly we’re just over the border in Gloucestershire) – and abracadabra, here he is.

In his spare time Joe is one of the many Liverpool supporters at Pic PR (up the Mighty Reds**), and loves to watch them play, while he also pumps some serious iron in the gym and has designs on competing in powerlifting competitions in future. Needless to say though, despite his freakish strength, he certainly isn’t carrying the video team – instead, slipping in seamlessly to our well-oiled visual content pumping machine.

*OK, his designs were slightly more ambitious than that.
